In July, the EMMA team made 4 production releases, introducing 6 new feature enhancements, fixes, and configuration changes.
📰 The big highlight for the month was a major upgrade to the underlying software components that power EMMA.
📚 Background – Like many modern software applications, EMMA is built on a large number of software packages that evolve continuously. Upgrading these components is essential to unlock new functionality, improve performance, and strengthen security.
🎯 Result – In July, we completed a large-scale upgrade of nearly all of EMMA’s core software packages. This project took six months of development and testing to ensure stability and a smooth deployment. It was a major accomplishment for our engineering team and positions EMMA for easier support and future enhancements.
Here’s a summary of what’s new in EMMA for July:
Feature Changes and Enhancements
- We improved how EMMA handles member affiliations by allowing the system to fall back to another active billable position if none is tied to a company.
Fixes
- Users can now type directly into date fields instead of using the calendar picker, making updates quicker and more flexible.
- We successfully restored access to e-signup forms by updating the flow to the latest version, ensuring a smoother experience for users.
- We resolved an issue that now allows users to remove the ‘Application Received Date’ without triggering incorrect status changes.
Configuration Changes
- We renamed a few fields in the Employee Info screen for a certain customer to make record-keeping more accurate and easier to understand.
